China's Long March Rockets Will Open Piggyback Services to Whole Society

CNR News reported on July 8 that journalist learned from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation that China's Long March rocket will open piggyback services to the whole society next year, covering differentiated needs for launch into sun synchronous orbits, geosynchronous orbits and near-Earth orbits among others. It is learnt that, in order to meet the market demand, Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation launched "Long March Express" program last year, which can provide clients with fast, stable and reliable one-stop commercial launch services.

Journalist learned from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation that China's Long March rocket will open piggyback services to the whole society next year, covering differentiated needs for launch into sun synchronous orbits, geosynchronous orbits and near-Earth orbits among others, mainly including:

In the second half of 2018, the Long March 4B and the Long March 2C rocket may respectively perform piggyback missions of sending some satellites of 200 to 400 kilograms into the sun synchronous orbits;

In 2018 and beyond, the Long March 7, the Long March 5 and the Long March 2C may have extra carrying capacity for near-Earth orbit missions with different orbits and inclination angles. Long March 11 may have piggyback opportunities for some launches into the sun synchronous orbits.

Between 2018 and 2019, the Long March 3 have the opportunity for piggyback missions of 500-kilogram payload into the super-earth synchronous transfer orbits.

According to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the company has brought to market highly competitive launch vehicles and commercial satellite platforms among other new products and services. Different models of the Long March series have completed 60 commercial launches for domestic and foreign clients, 14 of which are piggyback missions and are well-renowned in the international commercial aerospace market.

Recent years have witnessed the sharp increase in the demand for micro-satellite launches in the commercial aerospace market, with micro-satellites developed by colleges, universities, research institutions and private enterprises lifted off into the space. To this end, China developed a new generation of launch vehicles including the Long March 11 and Long March 6 to dedicate to micro-satellite launches.  In order to meet the market demand, Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation launched "Long March Express" program last year, which, in such forms as constellation network, exclusive launch, piggyback launch and annual scheduled orbit launch, provide clients with fast, stable and reliable one-stop commercial launch services.
